We had den building, car washing and exploring how to roll large objects down the hill and push them back up again!!
Wow what a busy day in year 1.
As part of our design and technology topic, we have been looking at fruits and vegetables and how we can use a blender to make these into healthy smoothies.
We have learnt that fruits have seeds and that vegetables have roots, leaves and stems. We sorted fruits and vegetables and learnt about where they grow, on trees or vines, above the ground or below the ground.
We extended our learning further to explore how fruit and vegetables can be made into smoothies as a way to help us ensure we get our 5 a day.
We carried out taste testing on a range of smoothies and tried to guess the ingredients before designing and making our own.
And…… best of all, we got to drink the smoothies at the end of the day.
We had a visit from Anthea from My Dentist today to support our science topic on Teeth and Digestion. She told us all about teeth and how to look after them and about careers in dentistry. She even let us pretend to be dentists by wearing masks and gloves and examining some model teeth.

Wow, what a fantastic morning we had at French Cafe!
Thank you so much to all the parents, carers and chikldren who attended throughout the morning.
It was amazing to have everyone together and hear so many children and adults ordering their food in French!
Y6 have used lots of skills in DT to create a Viking Longship. From measuring to design, teamwork and communication to problem solving and evaluating. We think they look fantastic!
As part of our World Book Day celebrations we enjoyed buddy reading with our Language Unit 1 friends.
Shadow also joined in, until he fell asleep!
