Jamie Littler – Author Zoom – November 2020

Jamie is an author and illustrator who lives in England. He specialises in children’s books and comics after graduating from the Arts Institute at Bournemouth in 2008. Some of his work (Ghosts in the Snow) has won a High Commendation Award at the Macmillan Children’s Book Awards. He creates and illustrates his own work as well as illustrating classics such as ‘Famous Five’ by Enid Blyton.

During lockdown in 2020, we were lucky to link up with Jamie via video call. He talked about his book and the inspiration behind his characters. He told us the struggles he faces when writing – especially the difficulties of writing a trilogy where he needs to remember lots of different story lines at the same time to ensure continuity (keeping the characters, places and plot the same).

Years 4, 5 and 6 had great fun working with him to create their own character from Frostheart.
