Children from Valley View and Hedworthfield Primary Schools produced some stunning art work to commerate Remembrance Day 2020.
The art work was placed at the Cenotaph in Monkton Village.
We will remember them.
Reception have had a fun filled first half term. The children have been learning all about Autumn and Harvest time. They have experienced their first PE class, forest school session and have learnt how to word build in phonics. The children have been learning new mathematical language and concepts through their play. They have particularly enjoyed repeated pattens, comparing quantities and capacity. We are incredibly proud of their achievements for their first half term.
Reception have been so engaged today learning all about how to be safe when crossing the road. We all practised our Green Cross Code, using a pedestrian crossing and following the instructions from a lollipop person. We were all fantastic at being super safe near the road!
Our Community Officer PC Talbot, and Police Community Support Officer Caroline, came to visit Early Years today! They talked about lots of different ways that the police help us. We got to look at their police car, speak on the police radio and some of us even wanted to try on the police uniform!
Reception and Nursery were visited this morning by Margret and Quella. Quella is from the Guide Dog Association. We found out so much about the important job Quella does to make sure that Margret is independent. We even got to stroke Quella and say hello – we loved it!
Wow! Early years blew everyone away with their magnificent performance of Whoops a Daisy Angel. It was hard to believe that the children were only age 3 -5 years old. the show stole the audience hearts!
Early years welcomed their grown ups into school this week to play!
We had a visit from the Dog Trust today, The children learned about how dogs have feelings and how we would approach a dog to keep us safe and not to distress the dog.
Reception learning about health and fitness by making fruit kebabs and playing basketball.
Reception children explored direction and practised listening to instructions. It was so much fun that quite a few of the children continued to play after the game was over.
