Year 2 children have loved their art topic all about Jackson Pollock. We practised being action painters and practised using different skills to create abstract art.
The children in year 2 have been working hard in English lessons. They have been using Talk for Writing to learn the story of the little red hen. We even visited the chickens in school!
We have been exploring the Nursery areas and sharing with our friends. All of the staff are so proud of the children, they are helping and beginning to share independently. Well done boys and girls!
Today we celebrated our first Nursery birthday! We had a wonderful morning singing happy birthday and making birthday cakes to share. Our birthday boy chose to make a banana flavoured cake. We had to use our big muscles to mash the bananas and whisk the mixture together. We then shared them. They were DELICIOUS!
We had a wonderful time sharing ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’. We worked as a team to make a GIANT bear. We also drew and painted pictures of the bear!
Year 3 have made a terrific start to Farm Club!
Each week we clean out the chicken and duck coop then fill it with lovely fresh straw.
We love to pick the fresh produce that we have grown in our very own allottment then feed these treats to our lovely chickens and ducks.
We love learning about growing food and caring for our animals !
Year 5 have made an excellent start to the term across all curriculum subjects, including their new topic ‘Earth and Space’. We have dived into our new class text: ‘A Firework Maker’s Daughter’ by Philip Pullman, focusing on fluency when reading aloud and learning about the context of Indonesia and the experiences of rice farmers and sulphur miners.
