We have done lots of amazing Maths work using a variety of equipment. We even did some of it on our desks – don’t tell Mrs Jeynes! Shh!
Year 4 and ARB 2 children made a great start at Farm School this week! The children were introduced to all of the animals that they will be caring for over the next four weeks.
Year 3 and 4 gave the most amazing, spell bounding performance of Gabriel’s Big Break. Cllr Alan Smith, who attended the performance, on behalf of the governing board, was speechless, he told everyone it was the best show that he had ever seen!
Year 5 and 6 delivered a spectacular performance of Gabriel’s Big Break this year. the singing, acting and narrating was amazing, the children shone like stars !
Our newly elected school council from Valley View and Hedworthfield were welcomed by the Deputy Mayor for a tour of the Town Hall in South Shields this week.
The children learned about the history of the Town Hall, they created their own school crest, they participated in a very challenging question time and took a vote on whether to ban homework or not !
It was a great visit, our school council were amazing ambassadors for our schools.
Thank you so much to the Town Hall staff, Deputy Mayor and Councillors who made us feel so welcome.
We had a visit from the Dog Trust today, The children learned about how dogs have feelings and how we would approach a dog to keep us safe and not to distress the dog.
Year 6 started Farm School this week. They were introduced to all of the animals including Sausage and Bacon two enormous pigs !
The children loved this experience and are hoping to persuade Mrs Jeynes to enrol some animals into our school !

My name is Shadow and I am a special member of staff at Hedworthfield Primary. You can see me pictured here with Cllr Alan Smith and some of our wonderful pupils.
I have my own kennel and private garden space in the amazing Additional Resource Base in school.
I help the children with their speech and language. I am also excellent at regulating the children’s behaviour and emotions when they need me.
I love to looking after the children at Hedworthfield Primary and being a really good friend on four legs !
Our Children love Shadow when asked they said he was “cute” “really good ” so valuable” and an amazing addition to have in school”
