Y3’s Visit to The Hancock Museum

The year 3 children visited the Hancock museum to learn more about life in Ancient Egypt. Their engagement and behaviour was outstanding and the children loved the day! They had lots of lovely things to say about it on their return to school. While we were there we were able to recap our learning in other subjects like : science, rocks and soils and fossils, history, stone age to iron age and geography, our local animals life and river.

A huge well done to year three for their responsible attitude to safety, their engagement to learn and their respect for people and objects. Check out just a few snippets of our fantastic day:

Y2 Math Magicians!

Borderline Book Fun!

We have been lucky to work with ‘Borderline Books’ who rehome books which are no loner needed and have been donated. Miss Sparks and Mrs Henderson visited Borderline Books and hand-picked over 400 books which we have shared across school to update our reading corners. Year 4 have sorted through them to make sure the books went to the right home! 📚

Temple Park Superheroes!

Our fantastic Y5 sports leaders accompanied our Reception children on a superhero themed sports event at Temple Park this month. We had so much fun and they were so helpful to our little ones.

The children have enjoyed learning about France and have worked hard on their greetings, numbers to 10, colours and finished off enjoying some French goodies tonight such as baguette, crepes and cheese! 

You Are Fab

We are very proud to share that we have received The FAB Award! Together, with other schools and colleges in South Tyneside, we showcased the amazing work we do in school everyday to promote positive relationships and show kindness in our community.  On behalf of everyone at Hedworthfield, our Year 6 representatives did the most amazing job sharing our work. We are gushing with pride that our children were able to speak confidently  to a wide audience from schools and colleges to local MPs and representatives from South Tyneside Council.
