As part of their topic ‘Zoom’ Year 1 enjoyed a trip to the George Stephenson Railway Museum. The children enjoyed going on a train hunt, listening to the story of George Stephenson’s life and experiencing a very special train ride with Santa.
As part of our Winter and Christmas events, Reception enjoyed a Winter Wonderland trip to West Boldon Lodge. The children took part in elf activities, hunting for Christmas jigsaw pieces in the woodland. They then enjoyed a marshmallow by the fire and warmed up inside with a cup of hot chocolate. They then decorated a Christmas bauble and helped Santa unload the sleigh. Our visit ended with a very magical visit to see Santa.

This term year 3 was learning about, Why Christians believe that Jesus is the light of the world. As part of our topic we visited St Nicholas Church and made our own Christingles.
This term year 5 and 6 have been learning about fossils, evolution and inheritance. We investigated our own fossils including a plesiosaur’s vertebrae and a mammoth’s molar. After observing, we began to hypothesise about the lives of these pants and animals. We also had a fascinating trip to the Hancock museum where we learned all about how animals adapt to their environment.We loved looking at the skulls and thinking about what they tell us about human evolution.

Parents and staff donated cakes and the School successfully raised £515.03 for MacMillan Cancer support.
What a day Year 6 children had at Nissan. They had a tour of the training college and worked together to build their Lego cars in a mini production line. Each child left with a goody bag and some super facts. Did you know a car is produced every 59 seconds? Thank you to Nissan for making it a fun day!
