TRANSPORT FOR 2020-2021
Dear Parents,
We have received notification from the Transport Team advising that you can now apply for Home to School transport for 2020-2021.
If you wish to apply for, or renew, transport support for your child you will need to submit an application form by the end of May in order to ensure it is in place for September.
These can be found online at www.southtyneside.gov.uk/schooltransport
All pupils who use Home to School transport must re-apply each year. If you already receive support please complete the ‘Renewal’ form. This is a much shorter form and allows you to let them know of any changes since your original application.
If you have any questions, please contact the Transport Team on 0191 4242789
Mrs Watson
Hi,
I hope you and your family are well. It’s a very surreal time for us all at the moment. If you are a little anxious about the coronavirus this online course might be worth checking out. It is suitable for children aged 7-12 years and has been shared with us from our Healthy Minds Team.

KS1 WE NEED YOU!
As part of Mental Health Awareness Week Year 1, Year 2 and ARB1 would like to create a personalised ‘Little Book of Happiness’.
We know that the past few weeks have been tough, but even though every day may not be good, there is something good in every day. It is these little moments we would like to capture so that we can share them with others and have something to act as a reminder when ‘normal’ resumes.
Can we request that you send in (either comment below or send in messenger) your child’s favourite joke or anything that has made you and your family smile? It could be as simple as hearing the birds singing, playing football in the garden or splashing in a stream, if you have a picture you could attach even better!
Can you please send your jokes, smiles and pictures by Tuesday 26th May? We look forward to you sharing your ‘little bit of happiness’ with us.
Here’s a smile of mine. Finding trees to climb. Miss Southern 🙂
Tuesday 19th May
Morning everybody I hope you are well. This week’s curriculum focus will be centred around Mental Health Awareness Week. Our metal health and well being is so important and during this tough time we must focus on keeping our minds healthy.
This years focus is kindness, this is something I think you are all great at. You are kind to each other and the adults in the school. I would like you to think of the kind things people have done for you and the kind things you have done for others.
I have left a list of activities you could try to do below but what I really want you to do this week is be kind to each other.

- Help a grown up with a job

Curriculum Task
Hi everyone I hope you are all safe and well. On Friday we will be celebrating VE Day.
VE Day – or ‘Victory in Europe Day’ – marks the day towards the end of World War Two (WW2) when fighting against Germany came to an end.
On 8 May 1945, Prime Minister Winston Churchill made an announcement on the radio at 3pm that the war in Europe had come to an end, following Germany’s surrender the day before.
To celebrate I here are three activities you can pick from, I have also added a link to a video about VE Day as well. We will also be posting VE activities on our school Facebook page.
Design a coin- Special edition £2.00 coins are being made to celebrate VE Day why don’t you design your own?
Design a medal- You could design your own medal to celebrate and give thanks to the soldiers in 1945.
Make your own paper spitfire- Have a go at making your own paper aeroplane. Try out a few designs—which goes the further? Here are some videos for inspiration. Or just make up your own!
